Lisicki saved three match points and stopped the champion Pennetta

Sabine Lisicki from Germany is the last semi-finalist of the tournament in category "Prime binding" in Indian Wells. In a very close match with many twists she beat the defending her title Flavia Pennetta with 6:4, 6:7 (3), 7:6 (4) after almost 3 hours of game.

Lisicki is placed as No24 and she took the first set and in the second at 5:4 and the service of the Italian reached a match point. Pennetta saved it and until the end of the game didn`t allow more break points.

In her turn the tennis player from Brindisi had 3 match points at 5: 4 in the third part. But the German showed why he holds the world record for the fastest initial shock and manage to defend herself. In the tie-break of the final set, Sabine closed the match with her fifth ace and fell to knees.

Lizitski finished the match with 44 winners and hit 71 unforced errors. By Pennetta the indicators were 23-43.

In her first appearance in the semi- final at Indian Wells the 25 years old German is up against the champion of 2010 Jelena Jankovic, who beat Lesia Tsurenko with 6:1, 4:1 and a quit. The Serbian tennis player leads with 4-1 wins in the direct duels against Lisicki. For the last time both of them played in 2013 in Cincinnati, when the former world number one beat with 7:6, 5:7, 6:2.

In the other semi-final will meet the world number one Serena Williams and the third placed Simona Halep.
